I want to grow my hair long again! I’m trying to grow out my fringe and I want my hair to be long and luxurious so it will look rad balayage style! Oh yeah.

Anyway, I think it’s been a little while since I’ve written a proper update. I’ve been obsessed with making SocialCam videos (download the iPhone or Android app if you don’t have it already!) and think it’s an easy & effective way to keep my friends back in Adelaide updated with what’s going on in my life. I’ve also met some super lovely and interesting people from all over the world on there. So get on it, if you’re not already!

Wellllll, my job at Subway lasted a whole 2 weeks until I got taken off the roster for being ill (yeah, you heard right). After half a week of being mopey and emo, I landed a job at Wow Sight and Sound! I start properly next week and can’t wait - it’s right up my alley!

Bethany and Josh came to visit and it was lots of fun. I was really sad to see them leave. Only two sleeps until my brother and sister come to visit and just three sleeps until my Mum, Dad, Vince, my car and art supplies arrive. Weeeee!

I have to move, as one of our housemates is allergic to cats but I’ve already sussed out temporary accommodation and (hopefully) a more long term solution as of March (pool included!).

After lots of ups and downs (mostly downs), I feel like everything’s heading UP again! I’m so happy at the moment! :D

ANYWAY.

I’m super happy because I just got a job! Money problems solved (hopefully!)! I’m going to be a sandwich artist… moving up in the world! It’s not the best pay and it’s probably not going to be the best job, but it’s something to do and a source of at least an extra couple $100 a week which is going to make SO MUCH difference.

I had a free trial at a gym the other day. I’m still sore. So unfit, haha. I’ve been walking daily as well and it’s super hilly around where I live, so my legs/butt are/is sore too.

This weekend is going to be pretty full on. Mike has a DJ friend who is staying with us and we have gigs to go to every night (with free/cheap drinks!). I wish I had something new to wear though.

Nexxxxxt week, I start my job, Paul is coming up for a couple of days and Bethany & Josh are spending the whole weekend with me! :D Can’t wait!!

I might ACTUALLY be spending my 23rd birthday watching Underoath at Brisbane soundwave with one of my favourite people in the world Kara West.

I’ve been a bit down in the dumps the last few days. I think this whole being poor/job search cycle is getting to me. I haven’t been out of the house very much by myself, and the more time I’m spending indoors, the harder I’m finding it to go out. HELLO AGORAPHOBIC.

I’m finding myself getting snappy at Mike and I don’t want to be like that. I’m not sure if I’m feeling resentful because he has a job, money, his car, etc and I feel so dependent on him. I spend my days sleeping, job searching, cleaning & repeat. Then when he gets home, I’m always grumpy and annoying. I care about him so much, he’s constantly trying to cheer me up and I’m being a bit of a bitch, so I need to snap out of it!

My wifey/besty Bethany is coming to visit me next weekend - I have that to look forward to! Also, my parents, sister & brother have planned a trip mid-February, they’re bringing up my car, some of my art supplies AND VINCE (!!!) so that’ll be good. I can’t wait to see everyone!

I’m feeling lonely, dependent and stuck in a rut. Need to get myself out of this funk, la la la. I’m going to go and get a free trial for one of the nearby gyms, so hopefully that’ll make me feel better! Blahhhhhhhh.

After spending all day cleaning, my Friday evening so far has consisted of: painting my nails, drinking a lovely cheap rosé, watching lots of episodes of The New Girl and doing minimal graphic design work (which was originally my reason for staying in).

Oh, and I just ordered pizza, so let’s add “getting fat” to the list haha.

OH HAI THERE!

It’s been just over a week and a half since I moved to Brisbane, and I’m starting to feel settled. I’m living with my boyfriend and 2 other guys, sleeping in my boyfriend’s room and just last night I finally cleared space in *MY* room so I actually have a room to call my own now. I’m feeling a lot better about that. :)

I have been applying for 5-10 jobs daily and still no luck. I don’t start uni until the last week of February, I don’t have many friends at all up here so I’m going a bit insane not having any money, or really much to do during the day besides cleaning. Now that I have my desk set up though, I’m keen to get into some more arty stuff and also work on some design work for a couple of clients.

I am missing my family and friends like crazy. It actually feels like I’ve been gone for a lot longer. I’m especially missing Vince but hopefully he’ll be coming up soon to keep me company.

Anyway… that’s all for now… I’ll probably make sporadic updates when/if interesting things happen. :)

About to head to Byblos for some DJ thing. It’s hot.

Received my new Victoria’s Secret bikini today! So happy with it, it’s super cute.

However, I’m definitely not happy with the state of my body at the moment. I feel disgusting and jiggly. I’ve decided that I’m going to try to document my weight loss/fitness regime/body updates. As I don’t own a set of scales, it’s going to be purely photo based and I think that’ll keep me more sane as well, instead of becoming obsessed with numbers.

If you follow me on other social-networking sites, you’ve probably heard about this already, but for those who don’t, I thought I’d do a bit of an update!

Just after Christmas, I am moving to Brisbane! This is a pretty big deal. I don’t know very many people in QLD and I’ve never lived more than 15 minutes away from my family. I’ve been craving a big change for a long time now so I decided to just bite the bullet and do it - what have I got to lose, really?

In the meantime, I’ve been running myself down by stressing about this move SO much. I’m trying to organise everything at once and feel like I’m not really getting anywhere. I had a garage sale and it was a complete flop, so I’m going to be putting things back up on my Kara Sells Her Stuff tumblr, because that was a lot more successful!

I seriously need all the financial help I can get, because I’m really just winging this move, I’ve got this crazy “it’ll work out” attitude and I reeeeally hope it does.

I’ve applied for uni credit transfers up there, so will hopefully be continuing my graphic design studies (and maybe even eventually finish some sort of qualification - that’s the dream!), but mostly I just feel like I need a change of scenery/some new excitement in my life.
